Information and Review of the Nahalat Shiva

Nachalat Shiva is a picturesque neighborhood in downtown Jerusalem, with architecture similar to that of the Old City.

There are dozens of tiny art galleries, restaurants and cafes.

The first houses were built in 1869, by seven Jews from the Old City.

Among the historic buildings in this neighborhood are the Nachalat Yitzhak Ashkenazi synagogue, built in the 1870s, and the first to be built outside the Old City walls, the lovely Ohel Yitzhak Sephardic synagogue, built in the 1880s, and the Jerusalem Report building (formerly Baharav Hotel), on the corner of Yoel Salomon and Rivlin Streets.
