Information and Review of the Gamla Nature Reserve

A visit to Gamla takes in history, archaeology and nature.

Gamla is the site of a Jewish city founded in the second-century and known as the Masada of the north because its inhabitants took their own lives after the Romans besieged them and broke into the city.

You can view the ruins from a distance, or hike the steep trail to the antiquities.

A short, wheelchair accessible walk from the parking lot leads to a raptor observatory and a view of the 150-foot high Gamla waterfall, to which another trail leads.
