Information and Review of the The Okashi Art Museum

The museum displays temporary exhibitions of Israeli art alongside the permanent exhibition of works by the late artist Avshalom Okashi (1916-1980). This artist was one of the most important Israeli painters and made his mark on the art of the Land of Israel. Okashi was a teacher of painting in most of the schools in Acco and taught at the Art Department of the University of Haifa in its early years. His first subjects are rooted in nature and human and spiritual reality in Israel and are drawn from the sources on which he grew up in his grandfather’s home.
