Henrietta Szold was one of the most influential Zionist activities in the Second Aliyah. She founded Hadassah Women’s Organization, initiated the establishment of the first nursing school in Israel, served as chairman of the Hebrew Women’s Federation and headed the Youth Aliyah organization.
Her commemoration in Israel includes many sites, including Kibbutz Kfar Szold and the Szold Institute for Research in Behavioral Sciences and the Henrietta Szold Corner where she used to rest on her way to Jerusalem. In 1955, on the tenth anniversary of her death, a bench was placed around the famous sycamore tree. in 27/1/1982 Henrietta Szold corner was declared a national site, commemorating her activities.
