Shmuel Yosef Agnon was one of the most important writers of modern Hebrew literature and was the first Hebrew writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature (1966).
S.Y Agnon’s home in Jerusalem was declared a national site on 5/8/1987.
Today, Shay Agnon’s home serves as a museum devoted to his life and literary work, as well as literary and cultural events, conferences, seminars, lectures and guided tours that include a visit to his unique and rare library.
