Information and Review of the Burma Road

Burma Road: The story of the siege of Jerusalem and the forging of a road through to the city is one of the most gripping stories of the War of Independence.

The Burma Road bypassed the positions of the Jordanian Legion between Latrun and Shaar Hagay, enabling a renewal of contact with besieged Jerusalem.

The road, constructed by soldiers of the Palmach’s Harel Unit, was reestablished with great success by the Jewish National Fund, and today you can find tourist spots, parking lots and planted groves all along it.
