Information and Review of the Ben Tzvi Shack

Israel’s second president, Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, lived in a shack with his wife Rachel Yanait and his two sons, Eli and Amram. The shack was moved in the 1950s to Kibbutz Beit Keshet to serve as a memorial site for Eli, who was killed in the War of Independence while defending the kibbutz.

Now, following restoration work carried out by the Society for the Preservation of Heritage Sites, the shack functions as a site commemorating the legacy of President Yitzhak Ben-Zvi and his family. It houses an exhibit recreating the family’s way of life, using their restored original furniture and archive photographs.
