Information and Review of the Benjamin Pool

The Benjamin Pool was built by Baron Rothschild in 1891 and bears his name. The Benjamin Pool facade stands at the center of the old street of the settlement on Hameyasdim Street. The Binyamin Pool and the Arches House behind it (the aqueduct) were part of the first water plant in Israel that used steam energy to transfer water to the settlement at the top of the mountain.

The facade of the pool is particularly impressive and represents a unique architectural element in Zichron Yaakov and throughout the country. The site was declared a national site on 27/12/1988. Today the Zichron Yaakov Local Council is promoting a plan for the reconstruction of the aqueduct and the creation of a new tourist complex on the site.
