Information and Review of the Bet Shean National Park

Beit She’an valley located south of the Sea of Galilee, was founded about 6,000 years ago, and mentioned in the Bible story of the bitter defeat of King Saul on Mount Gilboa nearby.

2,300 years ago, the city re-established as a Hellenistic city. It rose to prominence during Roman and Byzantine periods, but was destroyed by an earthquake that hit the region in 749 AD.

The remains of this magnificent city – streets, impressive bathhouse, theater and temples have been restored at the foot of Tel Beit She’an biblical National Park.

Do not miss the unique multi-sensory, multimedia experience “She’an Nights”.
