Umm al-Qanatir Synagogue Excavations using innovative technology are yielding fascinating finds at the ruins of this Talmudic-era synagogue.
You’ll see a magnificent Torah shrine, menorah-carvings with shofars, Etrog’s and incense pans, and beautifully finished stone walls.
The excavators found remains of only a tiny community next to the synagogue, but they believe the huge arched building at the nearby spring was a prosperous linen-processing plant, the profits of which would have allowed the people built this fine synagogue.
