Information and Review of the Metzudat Yoav – Givati Brigade Center

The Givati Museum, located in The Yoav Fortress and also known as ‘Iraq Sueidan’ police station, is the heritage center as well as a historic monument of The Givati Brigade. The building was also named the ‘Beast on the Hill’ due to the cruel and harsh battles to conquer this fortress and its surroundings during the State of Israel’s war of independence. The museum was designed to showcase the cooperation between the IDF and the civilian regional defense. In the museum there are two comprehensive exhibitions; one tells the story of Givati during the independence war, and the other – the story of the Givati brigade since its rebirth in 1983.This Museum is a must for anyone who wants to learn and experience a major episode in the history of the establishment of the state of Israel, its people in its land.
