Ashdod is a major city and one of the largest in Israel. Ashdod is known as a port city and was mentioned as such in the Old Testament. Located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, it has the largest port in Israel, offers well-kept beaches, a boardwalk with restaurants and cafes, a prestigious marina that attracts many tourists, water sports and activities, sailing, and many cultural events.

The Ad Halom Park is located in the south-eastern part of the city. The Ad Halom Bridge, built during the Turkish rule, is the northernmost point reached by the Egyptian army during the War of Independence. There is a war memorial, and an observatory located there. In the north-west of the city, you can stroll along the beautiful “Nahal Lachish” boardwalk, which also has a zoo.

For art lovers, it is recommended to visit the art museum with the glass roof and the Corinne Mamane Museum, where the special interior design reflects the ancient history of the city of Ashdod, along with changing exhibits of Israeli artists.
