In September 2012, a salvage excavation was conducted in Modi’in, in a wadi in the Buchman compound,
300m east of Umm el-‘Umdan, after ancient remains were discovered during an antiquities inspection prior to construction.
The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Ashdar Company, was directed by H. Torge, with the assistance of Y. Amrani, A. Peretz, M. Kahan and R. Mishayev. Preliminary inspections at the site were conducted by I. Kornfeld and A. Tendler.
