The village of Kafr Kanna in the Lower Galilee is identified in Christian tradition as Cana of the Galilee. Here, according to tradition, Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding, at the behest of his mother Mary.
At the Franciscan Wedding Church visitors can see an ancient stone water jar like the kind mentioned in the story. There, or at the nearby Greek Orthodox Church, visitors sometimes renew their own wedding vows.
