Kiryat Shmona, the northernmost city of Israel, located in the northern part of the Hula Valley in the heart of one of Israel’s most famous tourist and nature areas, and is named in memory of the eight fallen souls in the battle of nearby Tel Hai in 1920. Today it is a developing city, which acts as a center for trade and tourism for all of the communities surrounding.

Kiryat Shmona is considered the capital of the “Hula Valley” and the Galilee and is a central hub that allows for many attractions and excursions in the area.

A central attraction at the southern entrance is the Manara Cliff, which has the longest cable car in Israel, which climbs over the Ramim Cliffs to Kibbutz Manara. The site offers a spectacular view of the Hula Valley and its surroundings, a restaurant, hiking trails, and children’s activities, an extreme sports center with a climbing wall, an omega, rappeling, and more.

At the “Golden Park,” which was built on both sides of the Ein Zahav (Gold) riverbed, you can enjoy sprawling lawns, a wild “jungle,” with Poplar trees among others. Near the stream stands a flour mill from the Ottoman period, and in the north of the park is a small basalt mosque where you can visit the Museum of the History of Kiryat Shmona. The museum has an exhibition of photographs and a light show that presents the history of the city. In the “Khan,” which is next to the park, cultural events are held, and the ancient building serves as an art center.

The city has guest rooms, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment centers. From Kiryat Shmona you will be able to visit innumerable tours to dozens of nature and historical sites, including Hurshat Tal, the Hula Nature Reserve, Tel Dan Reserve, Tel Hai, and more.
